Mandrake is two-part telefilm starring Marcos Palmeira as Mandrake, a criminal lawyer from Rio do Janeiro. Mandrake’s main responsibilities are to help the wealthy with issues they may run into with Rio’s seedier side. Working out of a small but presitigious practice with his late father’s old partner, Wexler, a Jewish lawyer that handles the civil cases, Mandrake deals with the firm’s criminal ones. Capadocia (full title, Capadocia: Un Lugar Sin Perdón) is a Mexican television series that follows Lorena Guerra, a pharmacist who chose to take on the role of stay-at-home mom. She and her husband seem to have an idyllic life, but one day when she arrives home suddenly she finds her husband in bed with her best friend. A confrontation ensues and Lorena’s friend falls down a staircase to her death. Lorena is sentenced to serve in an experimental new prison in Mexico in which the inmates must work, and the series follows the stories and lives of the many inmates and their various paths to the prison. | |
